Purpose:
Replacing & upgrading an inadequate kitchenette in the Centre, used by numerous community groups. Upgrade required for provision of warm, nourishing meals to 45 children/day of an innovative out of School Hours & vacation care (OOSHC) to commence 2018. The OOSHC will use research from the Brain & Mind Centre University of Sydney, to provide an activity based mentoring program to promote the social & community connections of children, which is designed to increase their social, emotional, physical & cognitive development. The upgrade will also greatly enhance what current user community groups offer in the Centre via hospitality. Hence, enriching their community. Groups incl: ESL classes; playgroup; Men s Shed; art exhibitions; AA groups.
