Purpose:
The funding will help to establish a Creative Technology Maker Space at the Westcourt Campus of St Joseph s College Geelong to support the development of life–long, global and engaged learners. At the Westcourt campus, year 9 students are encouraged to develop 21st century skills through cross–curricular projects that utilise modern technologies. The funding will purchase a laser printer, and the school has committed to investing the additional purchase cost, ongoing maintenance and associated training costs. The laser cutter is essential for enabling a hands–on, authentic, project based learning environment that supports a wide range of projects within different courses and extracurricular programs.
