Improving evidence-based practice for comorbid alcohol and other drug and mental health conditions: the role of implementation science and quality improvement toolkits
Purpose:
Alcohol and other drug (AOD) and mental disorders frequently co-occur, yet there is a lack of evidence-based treatment in AOD services and a lack of studies focusing on reducing this evidence-to-practice gap. This thesis seeks to improve evidence-based practice in AOD services by developing, implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of a quality improvement toolkit that assists services to implement evidence-based guidelines for managing comorbid mental health conditions in AOD settings.
