Investigator Grants
Grant Activity:
Proteotoxic stress, Protein Kinase R and human disease
Purpose:
Cells recycle old components using a system called the proteasome. Certain neurodevelopmental disorders have been shown to be caused by loss of proteasome function. We have identified an inflammatory pathway that is activated by loss of proteasome function and suspect this contributes to neurodevelopmental disease. We also propose to utilize lipid nanoparticle RNA delivery to develop novel therapeutics for inhibition of this inflammation as a treatment for neurodevelopmental disorders.
