Young Tassie Scientists: Sharing Our Research Across Our Island
Purpose:
The Young Tassie Scientists (YTS) are a group of 30 early-career researchers who volunteer their time to share their passion for science with audiences across Tasmania. These widely-profiled Science Week ambassadors focus public awareness on local Tasmanian science research and highlight local career opportunities through engaging interactive presentations and hands-on activities which cover a wide range of science topics. The YTS are involved in regional science engagement and school STEM activity, and support a variety of Science Week events throughout August. The YTS travel around Tasmania for these purposes, providing in-school visits along the way, with a focus on reaching regional, rural and island communities state-wide.
