PBS Program Name:
NHMRC 20/21 1.1 Health and Medical Research
Grant Program:
Investigator Grants
Grant Activity:
Risk and resilience in Alzheimer's pathogenesis, cognitive decline and clinical disease progression
Purpose:
Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia, and the number of people living with it will triple by 2050. There is currently no cure for Alzheimer’s disease, and the only means of slow the growing epidemic is to delay onset. My research program aims to identify risk and resilience factors of Alzheimer’s disease. This will uncover novel disease-modifying strategies, improve clinical trial design, and develop algorithms that will predict individuals’ rate of disease progression.
