Powering Communities
Grant Activity:
Upgrade to Facilities at Moonee Ponds Bowling Club
Purpose:
This proposed project will seek to improve our energy efficiency by upgrading existing infrastructure to reduce emissions. The Moonee Ponds Bowling Club (MPBC) has recently completed an energy audit and believe this can be achieved by: 1. Replacing existing light fittings to new LED equipment. 2. Implement a 6 monthly maintenance program for our existing Split System air conditioners (improving ongoing efficiency and the need to replace older equipment). 3. Replace an older Split System unit due to ongoing faults. LED Light Equipment Replacement: The MPBC propose to replace existing light fittings as per the attached quote. Split Systems: The MPBC propose to replace an existing split system (located in the Members Area) due to the age of the unit and ongoing leaking issues causing damage to carpets and furniture. This work will be undertaken by J&S Air–conditioning (as per the attached quote). It is anticipated that the replacement unit can be installed within a time frame of one day. Additionally, the MPBC seek to introduce a 6 monthly service and maintenance programme for our existing heating and cooling units. Whist we understand that this maintenance agreement will be ongoing, the initial funding for this service will enable to MPBC to identify excessive running costs, maintain equipment prior to it resulting in irreparable damage or excessive running costs. All test information including pressures and temperatures and current condition. The project co–ordination will be led by our Venue Manager and will be undertaken over a 2 – 4 month period, based on Club activities, function bookings and ongoing COVID restrictions. All equipment will be installed by licensed tradespeople. Additionally, this project will be completed in consultation with the Moonee Valley City Council as our landlord.
