Purpose:
Obstructive sleep apnoea is a common sleep disorder where the upper airway collapses repeatedly during sleep, interrupting breathing. It is associated with accidents and elevated risk of cardiovascular disease. Current treatments are poorly adhered to by patients, and there is a substantial market for new therapies that are patient-friendly. This project aims to bring a new minimally invasive light-stimulation therapy, Optosleep, to the stage where it can be tested in human patients.
