Purpose:
GET STOKED Wheels to Work will deliver three online employment readiness events to a maximum of 120 participants aged between 18–24 years across the Yorke and Mid North region. The sessions are designed to support young people to overcome barriers to employment and social inclusion and into continued education and employment pathways through the development of authentic self–confidence, soft skills and awareness of local training and employment opportunities. The sessions will cover topics such as identifying skills and capabilities, CV development and job application writing. Following the GET STOKED sessions, the program will offer continuing support for transitioning into employment or training pathways, with consistent communication regarding opportunities and light touch mentoring. Participants will also be asked to engage with Lighthouse Youth Projects' social media platforms to keep engaged and interested in the work we do which will help them see better outcomes.
