Purpose:
Gearing Up for Work in Life is a comprehensive, targeted suite of online workshops to engage and assist jobseekers to overcome barriers such as anxiety and lack of confidence, that have affected their success in utilising existing employment services to successfully gain employment. The online workshops use innovative and engaging techniques, including personality testing, games and challenges to support individuals to examine their own strengths and interests and to build confidence as they develop and express skills over the online course of three weeks. Central Queensland University will engage a qualified psychologist in the development of the program and will collaborate with Workways to prepare as many jobseekers as possible up to 20 to be confident and competent in presenting to employers or in pursuing self–employment.
