Purpose:
In the Bega Valley, 2pi Software has had considerable success in preparing young people in significant numbers for the relentless pace of tech innovation by taking a new approach that enables local people to quickly acquire a series of 'micro–credential' non–accredited statements of attainment. In many cases, such is the demand 2pi Software has for these skillsets, the courses are offered at low and/or no cost, with a view to accelerating talented energetic people into a productive role at the company.
This micro–credentials formula for success is simple and lightweight. While the Australian Quality Framework will remain the benchmark for vocational education in Australia for many decades to come, in the case of IT, this lower–cost, less formalised and more easily administered approach can deliver good community outcomes in a very targeted way that takes account of the different nature of tech, versus our more traditional and much–valued existing Australian industries.
