Purpose:
The project will see WCC taking an overall coordination role and using established networks with business and industry to develop employer–led solutions to address barriers for the target cohort. The service model, to be developed in partnership with jobactive providers, local employers, education providers, settlement services providers and other key stakeholders will enable these organisations to be more closely aligned in how they deliver services to the target cohort.
The project seeks to meet the following objectives:
1. Locally design and implement a system that delivers services, support and local systems for economic participation (jobs and small business) in a more coordinated way, that takes into account the individual as a whole as well as their family unit through the use of a family–focussed assessment tool.
2. Increase the number of people in the target cohort who find and sustain employment or start a small business.
3. Assist local employers in accessing local jobseekers to fill their labour needs by drawing on the capacity that exists within the humanitarian migrant cohort to meet industry identified demands and skill shortages.
