Purpose:
The Trailer Usage and Monitoring System (TUMS) project will develop a system capable of managing trailer behaviour by utilising multi–channel feedback from a trailer, automatically acting on events to improve occupant safety, towing experience and interaction with fellow road users. The project adds new technology and capability to existing REDARC product platforms, will provide additional functionality and reduce required user interaction thereby limiting driver distraction. Project benefits include advancements in technology, a sustained increase in the workload of REDARC’s advanced manufacturing facility in Adelaide and enable data driven service provision for recreational vehicle, fleet, mining and commercial customers.
