Point-of-Care test for acute pancreatitis
Purpose:
Pancreatitis is a life threatening condition that can progress rapidly and results in high death rates. Access to pancreatitis laboratory tests is often too slow. The proposed research will create a novel portable test system that allow clinicians to monitor pancreatitis severity in blood. Such a test will save the lives of patients with acute pancreatitis and reduce the overall cost of pancreatitis treatment.
