Purpose:
We present a novel design of a construction system that simplifies the interaction between user, designer and fabrication, and allows to effectively deploy customized, high quality dwellings without incurring a cost premium.
The project proposes development of standardised elements, optimised for variable designs and for fabrication techniques utilizing Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) fabrication, embodying principles of lean production & Building Information Modelling (BIM).
The intended outcome of the project is to develop a library of interconnecting elements that can be fabricated by automated, high value adding manufacturing through development and application of innovative strategies, technologies and tools.
