Purpose:
The purpose of the grant is to establish the viability of a cost–effective, operational Thermochemical Conversion Technology trial asbestos waste facility in Australia, including addressing key pre–construction planning, regulatory requirements, issues and risks. Activities include identifying suitable site, regulatory requirements and suitable partner(s) to own/operate facility; revising risk assessment, economic and financial models; securing independent expert review of each aspect of the project; obtaining necessary regulatory approvals and licensing to construct, commission and operate the facility; and procuring approved site and engaging partner to operate facility.
