Purpose:
Increasing numbers of transgender children, adolescents and young adults are seeking specialist gender-affirming medical care. Due to the recency of this field of healthcare, empirical evidence on the long-term benefits, risks and overall outcomes following gender affirming care is limited. The Australian Research Consortium for Transgender Youth and Children (ARCTYC) will help to build this evidence base and directly inform future clinical guidelines, policies and practices.
