Kariwara Scout Halls Energy Efficient Lighting Upgrade
Purpose:
The Kariwara District of Scouts Victoria falls mainly within the electorate of Gellibrand, where there are eight Scout halls in the suburbs of Altona, Williamstown, Newport and Footscray as well as an urban campsite and activities centre co–located with the 4th Altona scout hall. Currently, there are 556 youth and adult members using these halls, and member numbers have been growing steadily over the past few years. These scout halls are also used regularly by a variety of other community groups and also for private functions.
Seven of these halls currently have a combination of old, inefficient fluorescent and incandescent lighting. This project will upgrade all the old lighting, both internal and external, with highly efficient LED lighting units.
