Purpose:
This project, supervised by our Abbotsford Convent Foundations (ACF) Chief Operating Officer and Head of Operations, commenced with an initial review of external lighting requirements across the site, including gathering previous installation information. Visual audits were conducted to prepare a detailed lighting plan, inclusive of a site map comparing the current operational lights and lighting levels against intended lighting requirements�including the necessary retrofitting of LED lighting. ACF engaged an electrician to obtain formal quotes for the works, and ongoing inspections have continued to ascertain specific location requirements, and review which fittings were able to be retrofitted with LED lamps and which will require new fittings.
For the installation roll–out due to take place in November 2021 the project will be divided into two parts: the retrofit of LED fittings and installation of new fittings. Funding through the Powering Communities grant program will support the former component (LED retrofit) only.

Key project activities to retrofit LED fittings include:
� Retrofitting existing floodlights with new LED Corn Cob globes (34 x 36w globes and 13x 54w globes)
� Full review of lighting upgrade across the precinct to assess and evaluate project outcomes:
o Reduction in energy consumption
o Reduction in electricity financial costs for ACF
o Increased precinct safety and security due to well–lit outdoor environment
o Enhanced wayfinding and highlighting of heritage assets.
