Purpose:
Carbon Revolution Operations Pty Ltd (CR), the global leader in carbon fibre wheel development and manufacture, is about to embark on a major expansion program at its Waurn Ponds site. The CR production process includes 3 stages – forming a 'dry fibre'? wheel, the injection of this wheel with resin and final wheel finishing processes. CR has commissioned a prototype wheel injection line to develop this process however this prototype line will not support high volume manufacture. The project proposed by CR is to develop a production ready, modular 'high volume carbon fibre Resin Transfer Moulding line'?. This would have immediate application in the expansion at the CR facility in Waurn Ponds where planned output is targeted to reach 1000 wheels per day by 2023.
