Grant Program:
Supply Chain Resilience Initiative
Grant Activity:
AgriHen
Purpose:
Through this project, Regard Investments will reduce the vulnerability of the supply chain for fertiliser by replacing synthetic imported fertilisers with a low moisture, high value organic agriculture fertiliser for pastoral, cropping and horticulture application.
This project is designed to convert the high moisture content of the poultry manure from about 70% to less than 20%. This is done by constructing a series of conveyors to allow the manure to traverse over a period of 48 to 72 hours through a contained building which utilises the latent heat within outgoing air from the layer shed, effectively and efficiently utilising a waste product (hot air) to convert another waste product (manure) into a usable material. The dewatered manure is reduced into smaller particle size and weight which is conveniently able to be stored in a bulk bag form in an existing manure shed and transported efficiently to the consumer as organic agriculture fertiliser.
