Translating patient stem cells into personalised screens for age-related macular degeneration
Purpose:
We aim to develop a screening platform for patient stem cell-derived retinal cells, using artificial intelligence to model diseases of the retina in a dish; subsequently screen for 2,900 drugs able to reverse those identified disease specific phenotypes; and test the 10 best compounds on a large bank of patient stem cell-derived retinal cells. The bets compounds will be further advanced for clinical translation.
