Sichuan – Victoria: Sister State cultural collaboration and exchange program

Purpose:

In 2016, Museums Victoria created a Memorandum of Understanding with Chengdu Museum and Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum in Sichuan Province, China with the goal of enhancing cultural exchange and museum cooperation between our two regions. The project, commencing in July 2018, will deliver an exchange of staff for professional development and sharing of expert skills between the organisations in Victoria and Sichuan, Sister States.

The outcomes of this exchange will be the dynamic development of exhibitions and displays. In addition, this audience-driven content will celebrate and deepen our cultural awareness and understanding between our two countries. With a particular emphasis on First Peoples and Indigenous cultures, we will draw links between our deep and ancient histories
