Grant Activity:
A multicentre double-blind placebo-controlled randomised trial of SerTRaline for AnxieTy in adults with Autism (STRATA)-Australian component
Purpose:

Anxiety is a debilitating symptom affecting many people with autism. However, we do not know how effective and how well tolerated are the medications, which are used to treat anxiety in the general population, when prescribed to people with autism. To answer this question we propose a clinical trial of one anxiety medication (sertraline) across five sites in two countries. We will recruit over 300 adults with autism and half with receive the active drug and half a placebo or dummy medication.
