Building Australia-China research capabilities for intercultural...
This two-year project will advance Australia-China knowledge collaboration through building Chinese students’ and Australian supervisors’ intercultural research literacy. Building upon existing research, prior successful project completions and established networks with Chinese universities, research will be undertaken with Chinese students and supervisors in Australia to create and trial five training modules to increase intercultural knowledge collaboration.
Indigenous Knowledge Frameworks that produce transformative learning experiences, including creative, intercultural, participatory and experiential methodologies, will be used to explore Australian/China literacy, Western/Chinese intellectual history and culture, multilingual knowledge co-construction, intercultural supervisory relationships, and time mapping. This will enhance the China literacy of Australian universities and the ability of Australian supervisors and Chinese students to engage in multilingual knowledge co-construction. Training materials will be piloted in universities in Beijing and Changchun.
