Grant Activity:
Evaluating the use of an open access self-collection cervical screening pathway: The solution to declining participation and to long standing inequities?
Purpose:
Australia’s renewed National Cervical Screening Program enabled an alternative self-collection pathway for women who were under-screened. Data collected from early adopters indicates it is highly acceptable, however, significant implementation issues with the strict eligibility criteria and limited promotion have led to a low uptake of the pathway. This research will evaluate the use of open access to self-collection as a solution to addressing longstanding inequities in Australia’s program.
