Purpose:
The project will support 50 culturally disadvantaged people with structured self–development and culturally specific job readiness training through weekly workshops with experienced, specialist trainers and mentors fostering interpersonal development and job readiness. The workshops will address confidence building, workplace relations, interview preparation from a cross cultural perspective, Australian workplace culture and enhanced communication training. Participants will be supported with take–home and in–class resources, including a customised in–class workbook and a job preparation guide. The guide is a supplement to the primary deliverables of this project and will reinforce workshop learnings with contact information, transport timetables and tips on dressing for work, organisation skills, online job seeking and preparing for a job interview.
