This project is the world premiere season of One Infinity, a new commission and one of the major headline shows in the 2018 Melbourne Festival. This wholly original collaboration based on the ancient Chinese tale of 'Zhi Yin' (‘knowing the tune’) will incorporate elements of Eastern and Western music and dance, creating a truly inter-cultural dialogue. This dialogue has evolved through workshops and will continue to final rehearsal, preparation for staging and presentation to audiences in October.

The creatives behind One Infinity are among the most high-calibre in Australia and China for work of this kind. Playking Productions, established by Carrillo Gantner and Clifford Hocking in 1979, have a strong track history for touring major Chinese works. They work with prolific Choreographer and Director Gideon Obarzanek, Australian musical director Genevieve Lacey, British composer Max de Wardener and Chinese guqin master Wang Peng.
