Purpose:
Under the Global Innovation Linkages program, the project addresses the two fundamental issues of modern–day hip delivery systems; that is, what is the target position for the total hip replacement implants to give the optimal patient specific impingement–free range of motion (ROM); and, subsequently, how to accurately deliver the implants to this position intra–operatively. This will be through 1. a functional surgical plan based on the prediction of impingement–free range of motion; and 2. a Rapid 3D Assistant for Hip Surgery System.
