Research capacity building for control of neglected tropical diseases: A path for sustainable societies on the tropics

This project will support international efforts to combat neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) which affect approx. two billion people globally, especially from marginalised and poor communities. Guatemala and Queensland, Australia share similar ecological and tropical environments that enhance their susceptibility to epidemics caused by NTDs. This project will close research gaps in the areas of data analysis and dissemination of results by training and creating collaborative opportunities to research NTDs between early and mid career researchers from universities in Australia and Guatemala.
