Grant Activity:
A rapid synthetic molecular evolution platform for novel antimicrobials against infections
Purpose:
Infections caused by antimicrobial resistant bacteria are rapidly increasing worldwide, with 106 million new cases annually. Antimicrobial peptides are a promising therapeutic to tackle the shortage of antibiotics. However, conventional development of antimicrobial peptides is limited by inadequate preparation of large parallel libraries and ineffective bioactivity tests. I will develop novel approaches via computational modelling and smart synthesis to identify therapeutic to combat infections.
