2021 Priority-driven Collaborative Cancer Research Scheme
Grant Activity:
Prognostic value of pleural effusion-derived tissue resident memory T cells
Purpose:
Mesothelioma is an aggressive, incurable cancer of the lungs. New therapies that activate the immune system are being tested. However, their success relies on understanding the anti-tumour immune response in these patients. Mesothelioma related pleural effusion is an accumulation of fluid in the chest. Using this fluid as a window into the tumour environment, we will examine cancer-killing immune cells with an aim to better predict patient outcomes and identify new molecular targets for immunotherapy.
