Cardiovascular Disease Prevention in Cancer Survivors by Recognition and Treatment of Subclinical Disease
Purpose:
This research program seeks to develop a cardiovascular diseases (CVD) screening program and subsequent risk-based CVD prevention program to reduce the development of CVD in cancer survivors. This is important because survivors are at risk of CVD, both because of their cancer therapy and because the risk factors for cancer are shared with CVD. Early detection of CVD by screening will enable targeted prevention efforts to reduce incident CVD in cancer survivors.
