Develop an international ACRS Outreach Chapter in Asia
The Australasian College of Road Safety (ACRS) is the peak membership association for road safety professionals, advocates, and members of the public who are focused on saving lives and serious injury on our roads.
The Australasian Road Safety Conference (the Conference) is held each year in a different State, Territory or New Zealand. It is jointly convened by the ACRS and Austroads, managed by the College and in 2019 included the Centre of Automotive Research at the University of Adelaide as Inviting Partners.
This grant will enable the Australasian College of Road Safety to develop an international outreach program in Asia through the development of an Asian Chapter of the Australasian College of Road Safety.
The Asian Chapter will be based on the experience of the ACRS in Australasia and supported by the ACRS and its Members.
In supporting this new Chapter, the ACRS will draw on the input of its Members and Fellows who work in the region, research in areas of importance to the region, work with international organisations involved in Asia and philanthropic organisations and Governments interested in improving road safety and health outcomes in the region.
The ACRS will utilise its own extensive experience in its Chapter structures, respected international Journal of the ACRS, and its successful Australasian Road Safety Conferences which already provide a group of LMIC Scholarships funded by the Australian Government.
