Purpose:
Currumbin Wildlife Hospital provides veterinary care to 400+ koalas annually. This program aims to increase the intensive care capacity, improving the emergency response & general care of koalas admitted. Research is key in the recovery of the koala species and continuing current applied research projects & expansion into other research with practical outcomes is critical to the program. This project aims to protect the koala species through: -The best veterinary care: Koala Intensive Care Unit -Rescue & transport for injured koalas: New ambulance -Koala rehabilitation exercise enclosures: Prepare koalas for release -Expansion of Eucalypt Plantations: For koala feed -Hospital Data Management: For clinical efficiency, reporting and research.
