Purpose:
The project will research the employability skills young people need and will build a portfolio assessment tool for school and VET educators. It will conduct focus groups with employers to identify the employability skill requirements for entry–level positions in four industries. It will research and map the underlying structure of employability skill development to build a portfolio assessment tool for use in schools and VET providers, and will develop materials for teachers to use to develop these skills. Findings and products from the project will help educators enable young people to build the essential employability capabilities required for successful transition to employment in major industries.
