Purpose:
This program will address the role of social media on youth suicide and self-harm. It will lead to increased understanding of the harms and benefits of online communication from the perspective of young people, parents, professionals and the social media industry. Outputs include evidence-based guidance plus co-designed social media campaign targeting young people. If effective, this work will directly translate into increased online safety for at-risk young people in Australia and overseas.
