Purpose:
Using machine learning (ML) methods and integration of newly developed sensor technology the project partners aim to increase the efficiency of fish identification, classification and measurement. We will achieve this through: stakeholder engagement to identify and define user requirements for an integrated EventMeasure+ML tool; integration of the ML with the current industry standard annotation tool EventMeasure: review and integrate in–situ optical sensors with the ML. This work strengthens the team's existing relationship with the BRUV community, presents a feasible development plan and builds a solid foundation for delivering a unique solution to marine ecology challenges.
