Purpose:
The project transforms historic mine waste & world-class in-situ resources into an economic & sustainable source of tungsten. Applying advanced processing technologies, customized through a 12-month piloting campaign. The project feeds into a supply chain characterised by high supply concentration, with China controlling 83% of global supply, while Europe, US & Japan alone represent ~50% of end-use-demand. Given its location within a regional tungsten-tin-belt in Far North Queensland, project infrastructure lends itself to potential partnerships to enable the establishment of a critical minerals cluster in a region supported mainly by tourism. The project implementation strategy focuses on training & utilization of regional workforce.
