Linking Culture, Environment and People - RiverConnect Shared Paths
This project will extend two of the existing shared path networks between Shepparton and Mooroopna. Route 3 is the Flats, a highly significant area which was settled by the traditional owners following the famous Cummeragunja walk off in 1939. The Flats shared path will continue the interpretive signage, explaining and celebrating the extensive contribution Yorta Yorta have made to the local and national identify. Route 5 will see a vital link to the existing shared path network along the Goulburn River to the Australian Botanic Gardens (ABGS) on the southern side of the Broken River. This will connect the Gardens to the Victoria Park Lake precinct and provide a valuable addition to tourism and recreational opportunities for visitors and locals alike.
