Grant Program:
Hotel Energy Uplift
Grant Activity:
Upgrading hot water system of Comfort Hotel Cleveland
Purpose:
Currently Comfort Hotel Cleveland uses conventional electric hot water tanks to supply hot water to all hotel rooms. It is planned to replace the existing electric system with more energy efficient air source heat pump system to improve energy efficiency of the hot water supply system. The new air source heat pump system is expected to be able to reduce about 75%–80% of total energy usage compared with existing electric system. Since currently hot water supply accounts for about 40% of the total energy consumption of the hotel, with the new system in place the total energy consumption could be potentially reduced by about 30%.
