Year 11 Biology STEM fieldwork excursion
Purpose:
Students will achieve the hands-on practical skills necessary for surveying and monitoring Fauna and Flora, using surveying techniques (quadrats, line transects and capture-recapture) safely, competently and methodically for the collection of valid and reliable data. The students will be doing programs designed by DBCA and ran by nearer to nature. These include:
Fauna Biology, Hands on trapping, Night walk and Flora Biology. It gives the students an experience which we can not replicate in Albany as we don't have the access to these facilities and will be a phenomenal hands-on STEM experience for the regional students. Our students will be exposed to careers in the field of Biology and the practical applications of their future studies.
