Grant Activity:
Establishing caffeine as a potential new treatment option for circadian misalignment
Purpose:
The aim of this project is to examine the effects of caffeine on the human internal body clock. In particular, we will assess the extent to which a moderate amount of caffeine, equivalent to a double-shot espresso, can shift the timing of the body clock. The results of this project will enable practitioners to use caffeine to treat disorders and behaviours that seriously disrupt the body clocks of 20% of Australian adults (e.g., delayed sleep onset, night work, international flight).
