Purpose:
Gillieston's maker space is future focused with the use of coding and robotics while still implementing general problem solving tasks that are very hands on. Through the implementation of a distributed maker space all teachers and students at Gillieston Public School will have the opportunity to flex their problem solving muscles and at a time that is convenient to them. Students who are easily disengaged will be given the opportunity to use the maker space as a way to give deeper meaning to their education which will help to foster in them a more positive attitude towards their education.
