The 3D Maker Space will be permanently located in our school and initially focused on providing exposure to STEM. It will hold a 3D component for students to gain important exposure to 3D printers. The intention is a whole school approach, being to provide equitable access to all year groups through weekly dedicated, timetabled lessons with lead teacher and classroom teachers until classroom teachers feel confident to complete alone with their class. The community will also be provided access through an options group run weekly by local community members who are trained in the 3D Maker Space to deliver small group lessons. Connections will also be made to the local Bayview Secondary college to enable extension links.
