HealthLAB: SCIENCE ON WHEELS
Purpose:
HealthLAB is an innovative, interactive, science educational experience that allows participants to measure their own health and behavioural risk factors for chronic diseases in a pop–up laboratory. For National Science Week 2019, HealthLAB will travel to popular locations around Darwin and to the remote Milingimbi community in North East Arnhem Land to work with trainee Aboriginal Health Practitioners on country. HealthLAB will be staffed by a range of scientists and health professionals who will educate participants on the science behind the inner workings of their bodies and ways to reduce their risk of chronic disease. HealthLAB staff will mentor participants in the use of the technology reinforcing career pathways into science.
