The Government in 2018 committed $718,000 (GST exclusive) in funding under the Mobile Black Spot Program to improve mobile network services in the West Coast Region of Tasmania.
Purpose:
The project will deliver faster mobile services to West Coast regional towns including Rosebery, Queenstown, Savage River, Strahan, Zeehan, Tullah and Waratah.
This will also open the way for Telstra to provide better mobile coverage to communities including construction of a new base station at Tullah.
