Purpose:
The Wildlife Treatment and Care program is designed to build capacity with veterinary professionals on the clinical treatment and care of native fauna, including a comprehensive, stand–alone Koala health module.
The grant will fund the expansion of the course, ensuring training opportunities are provided across the Koala range states and support the establishment of interstate delivery partners for the practical workshop, which have not been previously offered outside NSW.
The program is the only course of its kind and accredited by the Australian Veterinary Association and the Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia. The grant will provide 1,000 training opportunities to vets and vet nurses across QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC & SA.
