Informing post-fire management and recovery for seven threatened species
Purpose:
This project will generate information on the impact of the 2019-20 bushfires to inform recovery actions and targeted management programs for seven threatened species in eastern Victoria and coastal NSW. The focal species are the rare and restricted Alpine She-oak Skink, the cryptic Eastern Bristlebird, the declining Greater Glider and Yellow-bellied Glider, the iconic Platypus, the spectacular Glossy Black Cockatoo and the enigmatic Spot-tailed Quoll. These projects will be delivered with a broad range of partner organisations to develop and employ novel techniques for improving our understanding of the status of these species, which will help improve their post-fire conservation prospects.
