Our project will upgrade existing sodium and mercury vapour lights on the clubs mooring pontoon with energy efficient LED floodlights that provide brighter, safer, more environmentally–friendly and efficient lighting for pontoon users. Our club has a long history as a vibrant volunteer–managed boating club & community hub. We have provided social & recreational services to families & residents of North Stradbroke Island, visitors & members of the recreational and travelling boating community for almost 70 years. During this time our membership has steadily increased. We provide volunteering and local employment opportunities to support bistro & dining areas, a program of regular events/entertainment, venue hire, childrens playground, courtesy bus, BBQ facilities; showers, laundry and mooring/pontoon infrastructure. We are situated on waterfront land at ONE MILE, to the north of DUNWICH on North Stradbroke Island directly adjacent the ferry terminal that brings visitors and tourists to our island. We support the local community, recreational boating and maritime community throughout Moreton Bay, Brisbane and East Coast regions and from across Australia and overseas. Project scope Our project will install 5 new 200W LED floodlights with LED driver/controller) on existing light towers to enable safe and efficient lighting for our mooring pontoon and surrounding infrastructure.
